Each department on the Railways is responsible for safety in its own sphere of working. Safety Organisation monitors every department to ensure that the laid down systems are being followed by all other departments. Safety Organisation also maintains liaison with the commissioner of Railway Safety and the Safety Directorate with the Railway board .Safety department also monitors disposal of the accident enquiry and D&A R cases to its logical conclusion to ensure that the punishment imposed on the responsible employee is adequate as laid down. Overall, the safety organisation works towards the achievement of Corporate Safety Plan.
